Overview

The Schubert & Salzer Type 8038 GS3 is a high-resolution, high-speed stepper motor sliding gate valve — the fastest motor actuator in the Schubert & Salzer product range. Unlike the third-party motor valves in the GS3 series, the Type 8038 uses a Schubert & Salzer designed stepper actuator with high-precision control electronics, achieving a positioning accuracy of ±0.2% even at a stroke of just 6 mm. The rugged metal actuator body is configurable via software and can optionally be equipped with a super capacitor-based fail-safe feature for reliable valve positioning on power loss.

Available in sizes 1/2″ to 10″ with stainless steel (CF8M / 316Ti cover), carbon steel (WCB / CF8M cover), and Alloy C276 body options, the Type 8038 is rated to 145/580 psi, 1,450 psi, and ANSI #150, #300, and #600. Media temperatures range from -76°F to 662°F with special versions available on request. Thrust ratings of 2 kN and 5 kN are available with a wide input voltage of 100–240V (50/60 Hz) or 24V AC/DC. The actuator is rated IP67 and supports both wafer-type and threaded connection configurations.
