Overview

The Schubert & Salzer Type 2030 is a high-resolution linear electric actuator designed for precise valve positioning in demanding industrial applications. It combines the positioning accuracy of a control actuator with the speed and reliability typically associated with pneumatic devices, making it a direct-fit solution where pneumatic supply is unavailable or undesirable.

Available in 450 lbf and 1100 lbf force versions, the Type 2030 features a robust aluminum housing with metal gears, a separate terminal box, and an IP67 ingress protection rating. An optional fail-safe module — powered by internal capacitors — returns the actuator to a selectable safe position upon loss of power.

Features & Benefits

  • Very high positioning resolution with a dead band of ±0.2% — minimizes control hunting and improves process stability
  • Fast stroking speed up to 19 s/inch (450 lbf version) — responsive performance comparable to pneumatic actuators
  • Smooth start and slow-down control — reduces mechanical stress on valves and extends service life
  • 100% duty cycle — suitable for continuous modulating control without duty-cycle restrictions
  • Robust aluminum housing with metal gearbox — built for long-term reliability in industrial environments
  • Separate terminal box — simplifies field wiring and commissioning
  • Fail-safe option available — capacitor-powered, returns to a selectable safe position (open, closed, or any intermediate position) on power loss
  • IP67 ingress protection — suitable for wet and washdown environments
  • Self-monitoring and diagnostics — monitors drive power, set point, actuator temperature, and electronics; stores motor and total service life data
  • Optional Bluetooth module (BT-1) — enables wireless connection to DeviceConfig configuration software
  • Automatic stroke adjustment — adapts to valve mechanical limits without manual calibration
  • Low-temperature version available — rated to -40°F for cold-climate installations
