Schubert & Salzer – Type 7081 3/2-Way Valve – Stainless Steel
Need help selecting your product?
Overview
The Schubert & Salzer Type 7081 is a pneumatically operated 3/2-way (3-port, 2-position) valve manufactured in stainless steel CF8M (316 stainless), designed for high-cycle diverting and mixing service requiring higher pressure and temperature capability than the bronze Type 7080. Available in sizes 1/2″ to 2″ and rated to 580 psi, the Type 7081 handles gases, vapors, and fluids at media temperatures from -22°F to 392°F with extended application capability from -148°F to 428°F.
The Type 7081 offers distributing and mixing control functions in a single stainless steel body, with NPT and Whitworth pipe thread connections. Additional versions for low-temperature service and clean-process requirements are available, making the Type 7081 the high-performance stainless steel option for 3-way process switching applications.
Features & Benefits
- 3/2-way (3-port) design enables diverting (distributing) and mixing control functions in a single stainless steel valve body
- Stainless steel CF8M (316 stainless) construction for compatibility with aggressive media where bronze is not suitable
- High pressure rating of 580 psi — more than twice the 235 psi rating of the bronze Type 7080
- Wide media temperature range of -22°F to 392°F with extended application capability from -148°F to 428°F
- Available in sizes 1/2″ to 2″ with NPT and Whitworth pipe thread connections
- Pneumatically operated with choice of piston or stainless steel diaphragm actuator
- Actuator body options in brass (chrome plated), stainless steel, or polymer
- Different control functions available — distributing (diverting) and mixing configurations
- Optional ATEX non-electrical approval (II 2G Ex h IIC and II 2D Ex h IIIC) for hazardous area installations
- Special versions available: low temperature, degreased, silicone-free, and PTFE-free
- Accessories including limit switch, pilot valve, and manual override available from factory
- CRN Certificate, EC and UKCA Declarations of Conformity, and Safety Manual with SIL manufacturer’s declaration available

Applications
- Flow diverting — switching aggressive or high-pressure process flow between two outlet paths in high-cycle service
- Flow mixing — combining two inlet streams into a single outlet in stainless steel piping systems
- High-pressure 3-way switching where the 235 psi bronze Type 7080 is insufficient
- Aggressive media service requiring stainless steel body construction over bronze
- Low-temperature process applications (low-temperature version available)
- Clean-service applications requiring degreased, silicone-free, or PTFE-free construction
- Chemical, petrochemical, and industrial process plants handling gases, vapors, and fluids
- Hazardous area installations requiring ATEX non-electrical approval
- Applications requiring CRN certification for Canadian pressure vessel and piping compliance
- Applications requiring SIL compliance
Type 7081 Accessories
