Overview

The Schubert & Salzer Type 4083 is a three-way ball sector valve with integrated electric actuator, available in diverting or mixing function configurations. Designed for precise modulating control of neutral and aggressive media — including fluids, suspensions, and gases — the Type 4083 delivers a high rangeability of 100:1 and exceptionally high Kvs values across all flow directions.

Available in nominal sizes DN 50 through DN 150 (2″ through 6″), the Type 4083 features a stainless steel body construction and is compatible with a range of sealing materials to suit varying temperature and chemical requirements. The electric actuator supports both on/off and modulating control operation with multiple signal input options.

Features & Benefits

  • High rangeability of 100:1 — delivers precise modulating control across a wide flow range
  • Available in diverting or mixing function — configurable for split or combining flow applications
  • High Kvs values in all flow directions — minimizes pressure drop and maximizes flow efficiency
  • Near equal-percentage flow characteristic — provides stable, predictable control response
  • Stainless steel body construction (CF8M / 316L) — compatible with neutral and aggressive process media
  • Multiple sealing material options (PTFE, PEEK with Viton, NBR, EPDM, or FFKM O-rings) — covers media temperatures from -40°F to 428°F
  • IP67-rated electric actuator — protected against dust ingress and water immersion
  • Multiple actuator input signals supported (0–10V, 1–10V, 0–20mA, 4–20mA, or 3-point) — compatible with most control systems
  • Optional fail-safe (spring-return) positions (NC or NO) — moves to a defined position on power loss
  • Optional ATEX non-electrical Ex approval — suitable for use in hazardous areas
  • DIN/ISO 5211 actuator mounting interface — enables actuator retrofit or replacement without valve removal
  • Variable actuator installation positions — accommodates tight or constrained installation orientations
  • Easy maintenance design — reduces downtime during service intervals
