Overview

The Honeywell ThermAir® is a nozzle-mixing air heating burner with an integral packaged air blower, designed to fire with fixed combustion air over a wide turndown range. Integral air and gas orifices simplify setup and adjustment, making the ThermAir one of the most straightforward burners to commission and maintain. The series spans nine models from TA0015 through TA0500, covering a capacity range of 150,000 to 5,000,000 BTU/h (44 to 1,465 kW).

ThermAir burners are engineered for direct and indirect air heating applications where fuel composition may vary widely — from 800 to 3,200 BTU/cf — without requiring nozzle changes. Their fixed-air design provides additional airflow to carry moisture away from process materials, making them especially well suited for textile ovens, process heaters, and other continuous-duty heating systems.

Features & Benefits

  • Greater than 30:1 turndown ratio — enables stable operation across a wide firing range without burner adjustments
  • Multi-fuel capability — fires natural gas, propane, or butane without changing the nozzle
  • Fixed-air nozzle-mix combustion — simplifies setup, commissioning, and ongoing adjustment
  • Integral packaged air blower — eliminates the need for a separate combustion air fan and reduces installation complexity
  • Direct spark ignition — no pilot burner required, reducing components and maintenance points
  • Low NOx emissions — 60 ppm at high fire
  • Right- or left-hand blower configuration — adapts to existing piping arrangements
  • Rear disassembly — burner can be serviced from the back without removing the entire assembly
  • Global metric/English gas interface — compatible with international and domestic installations
  • Multiple combustor material options — alloy tube for lower temperatures, SiC tube or refractory block for higher-temperature applications
  • Multiple gas control configurations — stripped, basic (modulating valve), or complete (modulating valve + ratio regulator)
  • Multiple limit switch options — high, low, high and low, or none — to match system safety requirements
