Overview

The Honeywell Beta BBG and BBC are heavy-duty, all-purpose direct-fired industrial burners designed for continuous or intermittent operation across a broad range of industrial heating environments. The BBG is a gas-only burner with capacities from 3.1 million to more than 123 million Btu/hr (820 to 32,520 kW), while the BBC is a multi-fuel combination burner capable of operating on gas, light oil, liquid propane, or heavy fuel oil, with capacities ranging from 2.9 million to 109 million Btu/hr (760 to 28,920 kW). Both models are engineered for low air and fuel pressure requirements and are suited for applications operating under pressure or suction conditions.

The Beta series operates on any clean industrial fuel gas with a higher heating value of 500 Btu/scf (19.7 MJ/nm³) or greater, with ambient or preheated combustion air. Available in 1000, 2000, and 3000 series body configurations, the burners support alloy or refractory tile options, UV and ionization flame supervision, pilot or direct spark ignition, and optional insulated bodies for preheated air up to 900°F (480°C). The Beta BBG conforms to EN 762-2 (2010) and EN ISO 12100 (2010) standards.

Features & Benefits

  • All-purpose high-input design suitable for continuous or intermittent operation across a wide range of industrial heating environments
  • Low air and fuel pressure requirements — nominal air supply pressure 16 osig (68.9 mbar); nominal gas supply pressure 4 osig (17.2 mbar)
  • Wide capacity range — BBG: 3.1M to 123M+ Btu/hr (820–32,520 kW); BBC: 2.9M to 109M Btu/hr (760–28,920 kW)
  • Broad air/fuel ratio operating range with approximately 10:1 on-ratio turndown (BBG); higher thermal turndown available with excess air firing
  • Compatible with flue gas recirculation (FGR) and firing tube configurations to support stringent emissions requirements
  • Alloy tile option for ambient air applications up to 1800°F (980°C); refractory tile option for applications up to 2800°F (1540°C)
  • Converging or diverging refractory tile configurations available; angled installation ports and customer-supplied shapes supported within defined criteria
  • 3000 series insulated body enables preheated air operation up to 900°F (480°C); 1000 and 2000 series support air preheat up to 300°F (150°C) with refractory tile
  • UV flame supervision standard on all models; ionization rod also supported on select BBG alloy baffle models (BBG1_04 through BBG1_12)
  • BBC supports multiple fuel types including gas, light oil, liquid propane, and heavy fuel oil; low-pressure and compressed-air atomization options available
  • Operates in pressurized or suction furnace environments
  • High-quality, rugged steel construction for long service life
  • Customized heating packages available with Hauck/KromSchröder fuel manifolds, blowers, pre-piped air systems, and control panels
