Overview
The Schubert & Salzer Type 8638 GS3 is a flanged sliding gate motor valve combining the precision of a high-resolution fast stepper actuator with ASME B16.5 flange connections for direct installation in US process piping. Designed to ASME standards, the Type 8638 handles steam, liquids, gases, and other media with positioning accuracy of ±0.2% even at a valve stroke of only 6 mm — the same high-precision stepper platform as the Type 8038 GS3, now in a flanged body configuration.
Available in sizes 1/2″ to 8″ with stainless steel CF8M or carbon steel WCC body options rated for ANSI #150 and #300, the Type 8638 operates with 2 kN or 5 kN thrust across a voltage range of 100–240V (50/60 Hz) or 24V AC/DC. The actuator is rated IP67, and super capacitor technology provides a built-in fail-safe return to a defined position on power loss. Media temperatures range from -76°F to 662°F.
