Schubert & Salzer – Type 4080 Three-Way Ball Sector
Need help selecting your product?
Overview
The Schubert & Salzer Type 4080 is a three-way ball sector valve designed for diverting or mixing service across a broad range of process control applications. Available in DN 50 through DN 150 (2″ to 6″), it delivers high-precision flow control with an almost equal percentage characteristic and an exceptional rangeability of 300:1.
The Type 4080 is constructed from stainless steel body materials (CF8M / 316L) and is compatible with neutral and aggressive fluids, suspensions, and gases. It accepts pneumatic quarter-turn actuators per DIN/ISO 5211, and is available with the integrated digital positioner Type 8049 — including Ex-Pro explosion-proof and IO-Link variants.
Features & Benefits
- 300:1 rangeability — provides precise modulation across a wide control range, reducing the need for multiple valve sizes
- High Kvs values — DN 50 through DN 150 flow coefficients ranging from 61 to 382 m³/h, enabling high-flow applications with minimal pressure drop
- Almost equal percentage flow characteristic — stable, predictable control response across the full stroke
- Diverting or mixing function — single valve handles both flow configurations, simplifying system design
- Stainless steel construction (CF8M body / 316L trim) — corrosion-resistant for use with neutral and aggressive media
- Leakage rate < 0.00005% of Kvs (IEC 60534-4 IV-S1) — tight shutoff with PTFE or PEEK seat rings
- DIN/ISO 5211 actuator interface — compatible with a wide range of pneumatic quarter-turn actuators, single or double acting
- Multiple installation positions (8 coded positions) — flexible orientation for plant layout requirements
- Integrated positioner option — digital positioner Type 8049 available with 2-wire, 4-wire, Ex-Pro, IO-Link, or integrated process controller (IPC)
- Vacuum-rated to 50 mbar absolute — suitable for vacuum service applications
- Simple maintenance design — straightforward access to internals reduces downtime
