Prolab Series

Combustion Training Built for Maintenance and Engineering Teams

Structured, application-driven programs focused on burner management systems, mechanical combustion control, and electronic parallel positioning.

Overview

Many Combustion Issues Trace Back to System Understanding.

Combustion systems require “safe startup sequencing, correct safety logic, and precise fuel-to-air control.

Most operational issues stem from gaps in system understanding rather than equipment failure. Our training programs are designed to develop practical competency your team can apply immediately in the field.

  • Sequence of Operation (BMS/CCS)
  • NFPA 85 & 86 Safety Interlock Design
  • Safe Startup Sequencing
  • Mechanical Combustion Tuning
  • Parallel Positioning Control
  • Structured Troubleshooting Methodology

Courses are suited for combustion technicians, instrument technicians, engineers, and maintenance techs responsible for system design, compliance, and performance.

Our Courses

Three courses covering the combustion control architectures most common in industrial and institutional facilities.

BMS ProLab Burner Management Training

Fundamentals of Flame Safeguard & Safety Logic

Develops a working understanding of the architecture and operation of burner management systems — from combustion chemistry through fault isolation.

Participants will gain proficiency in:

  • Combustion chemistry and flame stability
  • Step-by-step sequence of operation
  • Safety circuit structure and interlock logic
  • Purge requirements and timing rationale
  • Flame detection principles (UV/IR)
  • Reading and interpreting BMS wiring diagrams
  • Lockout analysis and fault isolation

Establishes a foundation for disciplined troubleshooting and safe operation.
