Need help selecting your product?
Discontinued Product Notice: The Honeywell Maxon Multifire dual-fuel high-temperature burner series has been discontinued. Information below is provided for legacy reference and replacement planning.
Features & Benefits
- Dual-fuel capability: natural gas or light oil (#2); heavy oil option on select model (6″-HO).
- Nozzle-mix refractory block design for stable flame in high-temperature furnaces.
- Five body sizes with “on-ratio” capacities up to 17,500,000 BTU/h (≈5,120 kW) per burner.
- Oil atomization using low-pressure combustion air—no steam or compressed air required.
- Externally mounted gas pilot (sealed-port or boosted) with UV supervision; oil-only ignition is not permitted.
Model Overview
- Sizes: 2″, 3″, 4″, 6″, 8″ bodies.
- Versions:
- Multifire (standard dual-fuel)
- Multifire II 6″-HC (high-capacity, dual-fuel)
- Multifire III (dual-fuel)
- Multifire 6″-HO (heavy-oil only; cannot operate on gas)
- Connections: ANSI or ISO; sizes over 2″ offered threaded or flanged.
- Block options: Square (≤4″) or cylindrical (>4″) refractory blocks; optional carbon-steel or stainless block sleeves for thin/soft walls.
Technical Specifications
- Fuels: Natural gas; light oil (#2). Heavy oils (#4 and higher) only on 6″-HO, heated to ≤50 SSU viscosity at the burner inlet.
- Typical max “on-ratio” capacity: up to 17.5 MMBtu/h per burner (application dependent).
- Combustion air differential pressure (at max): approximately 24–38 in. w.c., depending on size/version.
- Ignition: Natural gas pilot (sealed-port or boosted). Oil-only ignition not allowed.
- Materials (wetted/major components): Housing—gray iron; gas nozzle—carbon steel; air orifice—carbon steel; block sleeve—carbon or stainless steel; burner block—castable refractory.
Applications
- High-temperature furnaces requiring uniformity: forge, annealing, melting, ceramic kilns, lehrs.
- Fume/waste incinerators.
- Air-heating systems (fresh-air streams) with appropriate flame protection sleeves.
